Midwifery Care Services

So much more goes under the umbrella of midwifery care than what I can fit into these columns. Please reach out if you have any questions or want to know more about something listed (or not listed) here.

Prenatal

Prenatal care can start as soon as you pee on that stick and get that positive test! I love to meet with families early to get the relationship started.

Prenatal care consists of 60-90 minute meetings starting out monthly, then transitioning to twice a month around 28 weeks gestation, then weekly around 36 weeks until you go into labor.

Currently, I offer all visits in the comfort of your home surrounded by your family. (Clinic space available by request and calendar availability.)

Included services:

- prenatal education

- nutritional guidance

- supplement recommendations

- explanation / demonstration of body balancing movements

- clinical care and assessment of mom and baby

- lab draws

- referrals for complimentary care

- much more!

Additional fees:

- lab work

- ultrasound

- medications

Birth

Early and frequent communication about your birth starts when you need it to. I like to keep in touch with clients as things develop and change, and meet them at their home when they are ready for clinical support.

Together, we gather in the space that has been prepared for welcoming baby, and doing our shared work.

As the birth time approaches, I will communicate with my assistant - another licensed midwife - who will join us for the big event to offer extra support as needed. This is one of the ways that we keep birth safe :)

After baby is born, we will stay in your home caring for you both for roughly 2-4 hours, or until you are stable and ready for us to leave. During this time we assess wellbeing of mom and baby including head to toe newborn physical and neurological exam, assessment of tearing and need for suturing for mom, offering an herbal bath for both, and much more!

Postpartum

After your birth I remain on call for you and baby for 6 weeks. During this time I will plan to see you both in your home at least 5 times around 24-48 hours, 1 week, 2 weeks, 4 weeks, and 6 weeks postpartum.

Each visit will include assessment of mom and baby's physical and emotional wellbeing and any hurdles, assessments, and encouragement needed through those important transitional weeks as you get to know each other and baby gets to know the world!

Standard assessments:

- baby weight gain

- breastfeeding

- mom's emotional wellbeing

- nutrition

- physical healing from birth

- newborn blood screening offered

- Critical Congenital Heart Defect screening

- much more!

Between 6 weeks and 12 months, I offer quarterly meet ups with my clients that do not include clinical care, but continued connection and conversation if desired.

I did a home birth with my 4th baby this last spring with Christina, and it was better than I ever imagined. Christina was so attentive all throughout the pregnancy, and always making sure I was doing well both physically and mentally. The whole birth experience felt like such a blessing, and so much of that was because of the prep Christina did with me. I felt so confident and taken care of.

The care is incredible. Christina was a critical part of my postpartum journey as a first-time mom and I couldn’t have ever imagined the depth of support and care that could and should be offered to both the mom and baby. So supportive of dad, as well! She holds a strong family-centered approach. Highly recommend.

I absolutely loved my experience with Christina. Throughout my pregnancy, she was so informative and truly cared about my opinions and thoughts. She very quickly built a bond of trust and I knew that I was in good hands.
